Results of Online Learning Application Method In UAI Communication Students

Education is a conscious effort made by teachers towards students in order to lead to maturity. This explanation is in line with what Ki Hajar Dewantara said that education is an effort to guide all the natural forces that exist in children, so that they become adults both as individuals and as members of society can achieve the highest possible safety and happiness of birth and mental life (Rosdiana, 2008: 11).

With the development of technology and industrial revolution has entered the stage 4.0, the development of technology in education also tips to develop with the passage of time. For example, with the discovery of online learning methods, this method has begun to be applied in several institutions, campuses and schools. This method applies face-to-face principles but learning can also be done online wherever this user is.

Along with the development of the times, there needs to be efforts to improve the learning process by applying student-centered learning. One alternative to learning in a constructive view that can be applied to improve student productivity is to implement online learning strategies. As the name implies, online learning is a learning strategy that combines face-to-face meetings with online materials harmoniously (Noer, 2010). The advantages gained through the application of online learning strategies are improving pedagogy, improving access, flexibility, and improving cost effectiveness (Graham, Allen, & Ure, 2005).

Therefore, the application of online learning methods to Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia communication students is intended to make it easier for students to find concepts in the study of courses, teachers will provide knowledge online and on-site to students. The purpose of this method is to help students to find learning patterns that can later be used to solve problems related to this industrial 4.0 period. Based on the description and reasons above, we want to know the application of this learning method. And it is expected that the application of online learning methods can increase the motivation and learning achievements of Universitas Al Azhar Indonesia communication students.

Some students say face-to-face classes can be used to engage students in interactive experiences. While online classes provide students with multimedia content that is rich in knowledge at all times, and anywhere as long as the learner has internet access. After making several observations to a number of UAI communication students, it was found that they were quite comfortable with the Online Learning method.

Online Learning method with one of its learning components that use interactive media is one solution to adjust the learning style of students by teaching lecturers, even a number of lecturers say so. This is important, because the process of material transformation from lecturer to student must be on target and understandable by students, so that the teaching and learning process can take place well and produce an educated generation, who are able to compete and answer future challenges, as well as excel.

But that does not mean there is no solution or solution, because with online learning method, lecturers and students gradually adapt to the advancement of educational technology but still supported by the usual method of face-to-face. As explained earlier, that in the Online Learning method there are two main components, namely teaching in a conventional way (face-to-face) and through electronic media. Online Learning departs from the advantages found in traditional learning methods, so Online Learning aims to combine e-Learning with the advantages that exist in traditional learning. In practical language, the Online Learning method offers the possibility to benefit from a class that supports direct interaction and flexibility of online learning.

Students are also comfortable with this situation, even some students can still do activities as usual on weekdays. They only need to come face-to-face on a certain day. Their achievements and knowledge are not too different from regular students, some of them are superior to regular students.
